“Trump Media looks forward to working with new auditing partners in accordance with today’s SEC order,” Trump Media spokesperson Shannon Devine told CNN in a statement. According to filings, Borgers served as Trump Media’s independent registered accounting firm before the social media company went public in March. Later in March, the audit committee of Trump Media approved the hiring of Borgers as the public company’s accounting firm. The SEC review only focused on public companies, meaning BF Borgers’ work for Trump Media when it was private was not included. Trump Media is chaired and majority owned by former President Donald Trump, who is also the most popular user on Truth Social.

You might miss a massive move in Trump Media & Technology Group’s stock price. Trump Media is so turbulent that it makes bitcoin’s volatility look tame. There are many reasons why Trump Media shares have been so volatile, including the fact that the company is inextricably linked to the former president. This dynamic makes it easier for investors to place bullish bets, sending Trump Media shares surging. But that has been trickier with Trump Media, allowing its stock to spike in its early days.

Donald Trump on Thursday defended his social media platform Truth Social as a growing chorus of critics — and short sellers — view its parent company as a meme stock with a vastly overinflated share price. Trump Media has become by far the most expensive stock in the U.S. to sell short, according to data firm S3 Partners. Trump Media said it might eventually change its mind and report that data, but it also "may never collect, monitor, or report any or certain key operating metrics." Trump said his roughly 7 million followers on Truth Social is "very good for a startup, and growing fast." Truth Social saw roughly 5 million visits in February, according to an estimate by research firm Similarweb reported by the Associated Press.

Its parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group, merged with Digital World Acquisition Corp. and began trading under the ticker DJT on Tuesday. I decided to take a day-long visit its core platform, Truth Social, to see what goes on. Most of the content on Truth Social is highly political, and my feed was littered with fellow "Truthsayers" spouting conspiracy theories. New York CNN —Former President Donald Trump’s social media venture Truth Social is burning cash and piling up losses so rapidly that accountants warn it might not survive unless it soon completes a long-delayed merger, according to corporate filings. Trump Media and Digital World said the filing of the financial documents on Monday mark a key step forward towards finalizing their merger. That merger is key for the survival of Trump Media as it would unlock hundreds of millions of dollars in funding.
